Bryden Thomson

Bryden Thomson is a Scottish Leader , born the July 16th 1928 with Ayr (Scotland) and dead the November 14th 1991 with Dublin (Ireland)

Biography

Thomson directed the majority of the British orchestras, of which BBC Philharmonic of Manchester, the National orchestra of the BBC of Wales and the Orchestre of Ulster. He was also the second Scottish chief to direct the royal National orchestra of Scotland.

Repertory

Thomson defended the British repertory with constancy with integrals of the symphonies of Arnold Bax, Ralph Vaughan Williams or Edward Elgar. Its last recording devoted to the symphonies N° 4 and N° 6 of Carl Nielsen was accommodated very favorably by criticism.
