Bruno Hussar

The Brother Bruno , born Andre, Hussar (born in Egypt in 1911 - died on February 8th, 1996), religious Dominican, is the founder into 1970 of Neve Shalom - Wahat ace Salam ( " Oasis of Paix" ), an Israeli village where coexist Jewish and Arab, intended to show that " peace is possible" .

Born in an Jewish family not practicing, Bruno Hussar makes his studies with the Italian college of Cairo, before integrating the Central École of Paris, from where it will leave with its diploma for the occupation of engineer and, will say it later, " the desire to build bridges… between the hommes" . He discovers Christ at that time and converts with the Christianisme. Expert with the Concile Vatican II, it takes an active part in the drafting of the conciliar declaration Nostra Ætate on the Church and the religions not-Christian women (1965).

He obtains the Israeli citizenship in 1966.
