He affirms on his site to have had one of his great-great-grandfathers Edmond Gollnisch mayor of Sedan at the time of the catch of this city by the troops prusso-allemandes of Bismarck; actually, Edmond Gollnisch was mayor of Sedan only of 1873 to 1874. The mayor places from there in 1870 was the father Auguste PHILIPPOTEAUX (MairesGenWeb.org source). (war of 70).

Another is the physiologist Marie Jean Pierre Flourens, professor with the Collège de France, appointed liberal in 1839 and academician. Its great-grandfather, Emile Flourens (republican moderate), was the Foreign Minister of the Third Republic (1886 - 1888), adversary, although of strongly nationalist feeling, the adventurous policy and warmonger of the general Boulanger at the time of the Affaire Schnaebelé and one of the important craftsmen of the Franco-English and Franco-Russian bringings together at the origin of the Triple Entente. Its back great-uncle, Gustave Flourens, the brother of the precedent, had been briefly very young professor at the Collège de France like his father and had prohibited teaching at the request of the Church because of a course on the origin of the human races of inspiration darwinienne. It was a republican " rouge" , keen opponent of Napoleon III, organizer of the international support for the crétois risen against the Ottoman Empire, then returned to France after September 4th, 1870, one of the military chiefs of the Commune of 1871 episode, during which it finds death killed by a soldier.

Positioning

Many media, among which Le Monde, the Nouvel Observateur, the Express train, France Info, Humanity or Release, of the private organizations treating of political questions in particular the whole of the French survey institutes such IPSOS, TNS Sofres or BVA, the principal news agencies like AP, Reuters and AFP, qualify Bruno Gollnisch of person in charge or leader “of Extrême right-hand side”. However, Bruno Gollnisch considers that the National front is current “national line”, and not a party of extreme right-hand side.

Although directing FN, Bruno Gollnisch has sometimes remarks which do not seem to reflect the line posted by the aforementioned party. Thus, on Sunday, August 28, 2005, last day of the summer school of the FN in Bordeaux, it qualified l'" antiracisme" policy of mental AIDS , which irritated at the same time the patients of the AIDS, " antiracistes" policies and, mezzo voce , certain members of the direction of the FN, worried by the presidential election of 2007 and all that would be likely to make obstacle with the future candidate, whatever its name. Bruno Gollnisch thus took again an expression made famous for Louis Pauwels, in a leading article remained famous of the Barber-Magazine dated December 6th, 1986, titrated “the Students' rag procession of the zombis”. Mr. Pauwels, however, had not used this expression in same optics: its leading article aimed at a youth which would have been, according to him, “reached of a mental AIDS” and “having lost its natural immunities”, quoting by name “the children of the weak rock'n'roll, the schoolboys of teaching vulgarity, the happy ones of Coluche and Renaud, and altogether, the products of the Lang culture” (the paternity of the expression is allocated to the director of Présent Jean Madiran). Mr. Gollnisch, as for him, relayed in that by the Daily newspaper French initially (daily letter of the FN on the Internet), took again on his account what it described as metaphor, considering that l'" antiracisme" policy would have become, according to its terms, “a true religion with its dogmas, its priests, its inquisiteurs and its lawsuits in sorcery” but would be jointly a “false religion which today true opium of the people” and which would aim at “weakening their immunizing defenses, and thus fully the name of mental AIDS”.

July 4th, 2006, in the European Parliament, it expresses with strength its support for Maciej Giertych for its Panégyrique of Franco, Salazar and Piłsudski.

Mr. Gollnisch affirms that the “business of the “point of detail” did not make any movement” in the rows of the FN, whereas Olivier d' Ormesson is on the point of resigning of the party. Always in 1987, Mr. Gollnisch goes on a journey in South Africa, with two other deputies FN (Jean-Pierre Chenardi, Jean-Pierre Stirbois), three UDF deputies and three RPR deputies. The nine members of Parliament conclude that the Apartheid “does not exist any more” and defend the mode in place then.

This visit causes the anger of several hundreds of young people at the time of a demonstration organized by the Representative council of the Jewish institutions of France, supported in particular by the French Communist party.

July 5th, 1991, Bruno Gollnisch asks, at the time of an intervention before the district council of the Rhone-Alps, “the respect of freedom of expression for the teachers who exert a critical glance on the history of the Second world war”, referring, in particular, with the negationnist Robert Faurisson. The socialist elected officials and communist leave the room in sign of protest, and chair it district council, Charles Million cut the sound of the microphone used by Bruno Gollnisch.

At the time of a public meeting, Wagram room in Paris in 1996, evoking the bill on the racism prepared by the Minister for justice, Jacques Toubon, Mr. Gollnisch declared that “ there is today more freedom of expression in Moscow where one sells more freely than in Paris the books of Roger Garaudy ”, in reference to the text of Garaudy, former Communist converted with the Islam, condemned in France for negationnism, but not-continued in Russia where the diffusion of its works is legal.

In 1997, Bruno Gollnisch as a city council man of Lyon votes against the constitution of a board of inquiry on the question of the spoliation of the Jews of their goods, in Lyon during the Second world war.
