Bruebach (in the Alsatian brüebi, in the German brubach) is a common French, located in the department of the Haut-Rhin and the area Alsace. Bruebach means " étymologiquement; swelling forming obstacle, proéminent" because of situation on hills. The village was also named: Bruechbach, Brudbach, Brudtbach, Bruembach, Bruobach, Bruotbach, Bruottbach, Brutbach, Prubach, Pruebacensis, Pruebach.
The commune is located, in the Sundgau, to 3 km in the south of Mulhouse by D21 which crosses it to continue towards Steinbrunn-le-Bas and to 4 km of Brunstatt by D8bis.

The village is mentioned for the first time into 823, under the name of Bruchbach.
The abbey of Masevaux is owner of the village between 9th and the 15th century. (To be checked)
As the remainder of Alsace, the common one was annesée in fact by Germany during the Second world war. The village was released, on November 20th, 1994, by the Lépinay grouping of the First Armor-plated Division. The grouping crossed the village while arriving of Steinbrunn-le-Bas to move towards Brunstatt.

Turn chorus supposed of the 12th century. Nave rebuilt at the 18th century, increased in 1863 by the architect Frederic Gunther. Construction of a new chorus in the west at the end 19th or the beginning of the 20th century. Bell melted in 1418 per Nicolas Andres de Colmar.
