The gold medal Catherine Wolfe Bruce , or medal Bruce ( Bruce Medal in English) is a scientific Prix annually allotted since 1898 by the astronomical Société of the Pacific (or ASP, for Astronomical Society off the Pacific ), founded with San Francisco in 1889. It rewards a person for the unit for her work in the field of the Astronomie. It owes its name with Catherine Wolfe Bruce, bienfaitrice American which contributed to finance many projects in astronomy at the end of the 19th century.

The nominated candidates are proposed by the directors of six observatories astronomical, three American and three of other countries, the implied observatories changing regularly. The price is opened “with national of any country and the two sexes”, and allotted annually, the office of the ASP reserving the right not to allot it years when the candidates who to him are proposed do not satisfy it.
