Brownsburg-Chatham
Brownsburg-Chatham is a city of the Quebec (Canada) located in MRC of Argenteuil and the administrative area of the Laurentides. Its inhabitants are Brownsbourgois-Chathannais.

Toponymy
The origin of the name Chatham is connected to William Pitt 1st count de Chatham. This name was chosen by the Loyalistes remained faithful to the the United Kingdom to honor the memory with the Minister for the War responsible for the defeat for the France at the time of the ConquĂȘte of the News-France by the Britanniques. As for the name of Brownsburg, this name aims at paying homage to George Brown, one of the first pioneer of this place and which, with the assistance of Daniel Smith and of captain A.L. Howard, contributed to the development of an important industrial life in this village.
