Brown creeper

The brown creeper ( Certhia americana ) is a Passereau of the family of the Certhiidés.

He lives in the forests of leafy trees or conifers of the zone Néarctique (North America).

Aspect

Of a length from 13 to 15 cm, it is characterized by a thin and bent nozzle, a head and a mottled brown back, white eyebrows, a white belly and a stiff tail on which it is pressed.

Behavior

Go up or goes down while turning in spiral around the trunk. It is however difficult to observe merging with the bark of the tree.

Song : Software firm-Ti-yes tou-oui or if-if-if-sisi-if weak and acute.

Reproduction

The female lays from 5 to 6 eggs mottled in a nest located between the bark and the wood of a chicot. The incubation carried out by the female is from 14 to 17 days.
