Brotteaux

Brotteaux is a fashionable district of the 6th district of Lyon. It is located between the the Rhone and sees it railroad which leads to the station of the Share-God.

The urbanization of this district began at the end of the 18th century under the impulse from Jean-Antoine Morand de Jouffrey (architect and Lyonnais town planner, 1727-1794). This district can also be called district Morand .

High-place of the Lyons gastronomy

  • the district of Brotteaux accommodates a big number of famous restaurants such as Splendid of Georges Blanc, which restaurant faces the East of Paul Bocuse. The Brewery of Brotteaux is also a place privileged for the amateurs of Lyons culinary traditions.

The station of Brotteaux

  • the Gare of Brotteaux was inaugurated in 1908 on the Lyon-Geneva line which was connected to the axis Paris-Marseilles and the Lyon-Grenoble line according to the project having led in 1860. It was a long time one of the four important stations of the town of Lyon (Perrache, Vaise, Guillotière). With the arrival of TGV, the SNCF gave up it in 1983 after the construction of the Gare of Share-God.

The building shelters a room of auctions now, celebrates it restaurant of Paul Bocuse, baptized Is, of the bars connected as well as First Tendancy, the nightclub, considered as most middle-class and smartest of all the Lyons discotheques.
