Brothers of Charity , order instituted in 1540, by Saint-Jean-of-God, Portuguese, was devoted to the care of the patients. This useful order, bench initially with Grenade in Spain, was spread soon in Italy like in France, where it penetrated in 1601. The Brothers of Charity served the Hôpital of the Charity of Paris, and that of Charenton. This order, removed in 1790, was restored since, under the name of the hospital Ordre of Jean Saint of God.
