Brooklyn Madnesses

Brooklyn Follies is a novel of Paul Auster published in 2005 firstly in France and Serbia (in the editor Geopoetika, Belgrade), and then in the United States. This novel takes again about all the topics which are expensive to him, namely its town of New York and more particularly the borough where the writer saw, Brooklyn, but also the combinations of circumstance, the family, the disappearance of the close relations, the délitement financial one, the world of books etc Ici still the hero seeks to gather certain pieces which are necessary to its existence: to reconquer the love of his/her daughter, to help her favorite nephew to succeed in his desire to find his/her sister and to help her owner to keep with flood a specialized bookstore. The swirl towards which Paul Auster in this novel involves us is not without pointing out Smoke and Brooklyn Boogie , but in a version a little family, a little more intimist.

Brooklyn Follies was published in French in 2005 by Actes Sud in a translation of Christine the Ox under the title Brooklyn Follies .
