Bronswick plot

Complot Bronswick is a group with share in the medium of the Rock in France. The unit was formed with Rennes in 1981. From the start Complot affirmed its singularity: to work the relation of the sounds and the image, to find the tradition bruitist and futuristic roots of the current musics, to imagine and put in scene spectacles to transform the concert into performance, the scene in plate of theater, the music in act.

In twenty years of experience, Complot Bronswick carried out 6 albums and took part in many compilations (Divine, Rrose selavy, transmusicales, There is Faim, Machina, Echolocation, Transmission, etc…) and affirmed itself like one of the most singular groups of the scene of Rennes. Complot Bronswick put its theories to the test.

Three spectacles carry testimony from there:

" ICARE" in 1981 spectacle assembled in an abandoned industrial space.
" MAÏAKOVSKY" , musical drama written and put in scene in 1983 in homage to the Russian poet, starting from his texts and of its Soviet revolutionary iconography.
" RADIX" in 1991 with Fabrick d' Utopies Whimsical which was created and presented to Leningrad (the USSR) before being played with the large market from the Villette in Paris (May 91): 2:15 of images, halfway between the circus, the variety, the performance, the theater of images, the concert of rock'n'roll and the cinema…

Since the group presented itself in concert within the framework of the " Transmusicales " (1995) evening Rrose selavy. Scrambling the charts under various identities of Drive Mars while passing by Swinny and Nikolaï ada, adamix in arkan… PLOT continues its voyage and takes part today in the creation of the musics of an adaptation of the part of Eugene O' Neil " The Merchant of Glace" (Iceman Cometh) with the Co Jean Beaucé with Rennes…

A new album is in preparation since 2006. Its name " Rêves" reds; with in particular the participation of its first singer Arnaud Brusq and of Ert ex End off Dated.

History

First years

Complot Bronswick was born from the meeting of Arnaud Brusq (type-setter song-author), Yves André Lefeuvre alias Peking O (beater-type-setter), Maurice Chesneau (alias Paolo " C" Uccello) (painter-type-setter), François Possémé (Nikolaï Ada) (guitar-type-setter).
In December 1981, Complot Bronswick balances its first images with the Transmusicales of Rennes.
1982: Concert for the varnishing of the exposure of the painter Robert Malaval to the House of the Culture of Rennes   and first French round at the time of   the exit of the album " The Image oubliée". In December the group plays Rennes " Icare" , performance associated with the theater with the " Not of Jour" (Herve Lelardoux, Jean-Pierre Jacquet and Daniel Cueff) in old warehouse unused “Orangina”.

The Eighties and Nineties

In 1983: Concert video-performance in Vidéocéannes of Brest with Jean-Louis the Parr. In Paris with the " Theater of the Forum of Halles" , in Freibourg (FRG) and again in Paris with the " De luxe hotel. Following this Arnaud representation Brusq will leave the group.
December 83 Brunswick Plot has a new singer, Patrick Chevalier, and two new musicians: Jacques Duval, with low, (ex-Frakture) and Claude Gorophal with the keyboards (Ex-Opera Dissidence). The new formula of the group plays for the first time " Maïakovsky" with the Transmusicales of Rennes.
April 1984 album MAIÄKOVSKY leaves on the Label DIVINE at MADRIGAL FRANCE, and, PLOT creates its spectacle with the UBU Rennes. A Nationale round will follow: Turns, Angers, Angouleme, ART Saint-Brieuc ROCK'N'ROLL.
1985: The group is packed of a new keyboard, Tristan Marke (alias Herve Pouliquen) and elects residence with " the Bleue" Wick; , with Saint-Brandan (close to Saint-Brieuc, in Brittany). It works out new sound images from which the album " will leave; Darkroom' S Delights". The recording of this album will lead the group to Brussels to work with the artistic producer Gilles Martin (Tuxedomoon, Compact Minimal, Colin Numan, Crammed Disc…). The bass player Pascal Humbert, of " Tanit" , also of the adventure…
1985 will be him: The group takes again the road for a series in concerts. It takes part in the Festival of the Musics of Cross-pieces in Rheims, and will give a concert to the " Rex Club" in Paris. This same year, the group will live a crisis iinterne which will lead to the beginning of the singer Patrick Chevalier and of the two musicians who had joined at the end of group 83. François Possémé as for him leaves Rennes for Paris and joined the Divine team of the Label at Madrigal to work there as an artistic director.
In 1988, after 3 years of “silence” the group, installed in Paris, will be rebuilt around Maurice Chesneau (alias Paolo “C” Uccello) and François Possémé (Nikolaï Ada) joined by Tristan Marke alias Herve Pouliquen (keyboards). The group will impregnate atmosphere of the 18th district of Paris, where he elected residence, and, from the bottom of a small Turkish restaurant will be born the idea from the album " Iconoclasmes". The album will be recorded and mixed in the Paris region (with the studio of the Barley valley with Jean Taxis), the version edition CD being supplemented no-claims bonus and Re-mix by Gilles Martin (with the Daylight studio in Brussels). For this project Complot Bronswick will invite several singers of the scene underground Frenchwoman: Reed of the group Normalized Loy, Xarrax Becker which was not yet Dominique Dalcan, Snooze, Fanou the Arm, Richard Dumas the photographer-singer for a resumption of " No Fun" Stooges.
1989: Concerts for the exit of the album " Iconoclasmes" with Pontivy, Valves, Elysium Montmartre Paris, Mans, the UBU Rennes.
In 1990 leaves the album " In Kind off blue". The sound recordings are again carried out by Jean Taxis with the Val studio of Barley, the overdubs and mixings by Gilles Martin in the studios of Brussels with the participations of Peter Principal (Tuxedomoon) and Annéli Maria Drecker (Beautiful Canto). This album will be also the occasion of the meeting with Marc Amyot, actor Québécois. The concerts “Cabaret strume” will be put in scene by Jean-Michel Bruyère. Complot Bronswick will play 17 evenings with the Phonographic Establishments of the East in Paris, then with the Festival " White blue Raid" in Rennes, the " Manège" in Lorient, and Aaéronef of Lille.
1991: Complot Bronswick joined Jean-Michel Bruyère and Pascal Tellier in the “Fabrick d' Utopies Whimsical” and takes part in the construction of a multi-field spectacle " Radix". After 5 months of work bringing together musicians, actors, acrobats, scenario writer, marathonians… the spectacle will be created with Leningrad in April 91 (16 representations). It will be then presented to Saarbrucken (FRG) with the festival of theater " Perspectives" then at the Grande Halle from the Villette at Paris in May and June 91 (24 representations).
1993: Complot Bronswick takes an active part with Ert, Venus from Wrinkles (Mélano/Desbois), Vein… with the creation of the Label " Rrose Selavy" who will transform the concert hall " Ubu" with its image for the opening of the Transmusicales of Rennes.
In 1995-1996, left the new album (at RROse Selavy/Bondage). A series in concerts will follow. Complot Bronswick in 1995 does not have great any more a deal to see with that of " Maïakovsky" or " Darkroom' S delights" , but certain elements remain however: the talent and originality, an authenticity and an esthetics with null other similar developed throughout five albums spread out over a little more than ten years. Single and of this fact difficult to define, child of the Cold wave, the rock'n'roll of the formation originating in Rennes preserved the melancholy of it, and if the madness contained left room to a form of wisdom, clearness prevents any overflow in flatness and vulgarity. Rhythmic electronics, sometimes tribal, the machines amalgamate with the instruments " rock" and traditional in the most perfect fluidity and to the service of compositions always as inspired as time does not manage to deteriorate…, according to Brown Jenkin in “sentinels off time”.
In 1998, Complot carries out the musics of the spectacle " The spots sombres" then, in 1999 for the spectacle " Arnaqueurs" of Ilirjan Bezhani   and Minuch Jero, translated by Christiane Montécot put in scene by Dominique Dolmieu (House of Europe and the East) with the Co " The space of a instant" with the theater of the exchanger.

7 years of reflection

2005: At the request of Pierre Belouin and label Optical Sound, Complot Bronswick revisits its title " The war is déclarée" , extracted the Maïakovsky album left into 1984 which appears on very beautiful compilation " Location" echo; , at Optical Sound, with other groups. Another title " Born in has cage" (extracted the album " Dark room' S delights" , appeared in 1984) on compilation “Transmission” of the Infrastition label is present. http://www.infrastition.com. Since the end of 2005, Complot is engaged in the musical creation of the spectacle " Iceman" , inspired of the work of Eugene O' Neil with the Company Jean Beaucé (35).
