Broadcom Corporation (called more usually Broadcom ) is an American company of the electronics industry, which develops semiconductors used in various equipment of telecommunications.

  • August 2000 - Broadcom repurchases NewPort Communications within the framework of a transaction estimated at nearly 1,24 billion dollar financed by exchange actions. NewPort Communications is a specialized company in the components for optic equipment. NewPort has like customers of the suppliers of optical equipment of networks like Cisco Systems and Lucent.
