Brixey-with-Canons
Brixey-with-Canons is a common French, located in the department of the Meuse and the area Lorraine.
Geography
The village, called " Briccius" in medieval Latin, took the name of Brixey in 1670.
History
Many Gallo-Roman vestiges (Roman way Toul/Rheims). Dominated by Leuques at the time Celt. Stronghold of évèque of Toul held at the 14th century by Bourlémont. A castle was built at the 11th century by the évèques ones of Toul, of which one among them, Gilles de Sorcy, founded a chapter of thirteen canons.
