Brittany (Territory of Belfort)

Brittany is a commune of the Territoire of Belfort attached to the canton of Grandvillars. The village is located near the Canal of the Rhone at the Rhine and the confluence of the river the Madeleine and the Saint Nicolas's Day. In 1803 the population was of 271 inhabitants, the census of 1999 counted 192 of them.

Le name of Brittany (in German Brett or Bretten ) is quoted for the first time in 1365. The village forms then part of the parish of Brebotte then of that of Montreux-Castle.
