British task force

The British Task force ( British Expeditionary Forces , BEF) of the British Army evolved/moved much during the First World War. Of a force of: 70000 men, made up of professionals, it passed to more than 1,5 million men, initially voluntary then conscript.

Its first commander is Sir John French.
