British blues
The British blues is a form of Blues born with the the United Kingdom at the end of the Années 1950, which falls under the history of the English Rock.
Origins
American bluesmen like B.B. King and Howlin' Wolf are at that time very popular in the United Kingdom. Muddy Waters would be the first electric musician of blues to have played in front of a British public towards 1959. It is followed by Sony Boy Williamson II and Chuck Berry.
The British teenagers then start to play of the blues by imitating various styles of American blues. Gradually, a new distinct sound appears in the United Kingdom about the middle of the Années 1960. This form of blues, like its derivatives, quickly becomes very popular in the United States also and brings what one calls the British invasion.
