British Library off Political and Economic Science

The British Library off Political and Economic Science , often shortened in BLPES or quite simply Library is the central Bibliothèque of the London School off Economics, with the the United Kingdom. Founded in 1896, it constitutes the largest library of the Social sciences of the world, sheltering more than 4 million printed volumes. The building is located on Portugal Street at the North of the university campus, and was renovated between 1999 and 2000.

The library is known for its futuristic architecture and its elevators, its broad atrium like its spiral staircase of four stages. The library constitutes a privileged meeting place of the students of, who however complain about the strong discharges of static electricity coming from the slope from staircase.
