1922 : Foundation of British Broadcasting Company (BBC) by a consortium including/understanding Marconi, GEC, British Thomson Houston, Metropolitan Vickers, Electric Western and the Radio Company Communication. Launching of two experimental radios: 2MT and 2LO. A first daily program begins on November 14th since the Londonien studio from Marconi. In English right, a company is a joint stock company and the objective of this consortium of private law is simply to organize broadcasting on the waves in a rational way.

1925 : The BBC becomes British Broadcasting Corporation , i.e. a company of public law consisted Royal Charte. John Reith, who continues to direct the BBC until 1936, founds this great audio-visual public service whose objective is to educate, to inform and distract. The BBC diffuses almost everywhere in the United Kingdom. Its role of information is supported by great strikes which prevent the diffusion of the newspapers: the BBC benefits from it to constantly disseminate information of the day, which, hitherto, it could not make. Indeed, the editors of newspapers made pressure so that the BBC does not disseminate information before the newspapers are available in the kiosks. The BBC succeeds in being withdrawn from the economic pressures and policies and has of account to return only to the Parliament which votes the Royal Charters. It must not only inform the public but also to protect it from any exploitation and to guarantee the quality of the programming. The journalists leave the best universities and their obligations are detailed in the Producer' S Guideline , code of conduct very detailed.
