Brit Shalom
Brit Shalom ( בריתשלום ) is a political association Juive of Palestine which preaches the bringing together judéo-Arabic. It is founded in 1926 by a group of intellectuals and Jewish business men of Jerusalem. The purpose of it is of " to promote comprehension between Arab Jews and , for a common life on the Ground of Israel, and this in a spirit of complete political equal rights of the two entities. "
In 1930, Brit Shalom publishes a list of proposals envisaging potential collaboration between Juifs and Arabs in a state Bi-national and granting to the two communities the same political rights without taking into account the number of their members. The members of Brit Shalom are ready with decisive concessions, such as the limitation of the Jewish emigration. These ideas then generate strong reactions of opposition within the Jewish community, and Brit Shalom is thus brought to cease its activities in 1933. Some among the ex-members of Brit Shalom will in vain try to reconstitute various animated associations of the same ideas, such as l'" Association for the Progress of Orient" , the " League for the bringing together judéo-arabe" and " groups it; Union".
