Brion-près-Thouet is a common French, located in the department of the Two-Sevres and the area Poitou-Charentes.
Geography

- the commune is located at 7 km of Thouars, to 7 km of Montreuil-Bellay, to 20 km of Saumur and to 50 km of Angers.
History
- Old parish of the steps of Anjou, located in the perimeter of the vineyard of Saumur and the plain of Thouars.
Until the middle of decade 1960/1970 the commune was populated mainly small farmers who practiced the mixed-farming there, cereals (corn, barley, oats, rye) as well pout marketing as the animal feed (small production of calves of butchery and milch cows). The vine was as well present there, particularly on the heights of the hamlet of Étambé, place known as grélons Them , soil of white type of vines (chenin ray of gold). In other places of the commune of the scattered pieces red wines of everyday type of vine consumption produced (otello 54/55 ect).
The village counted also some craftsmen (baker and confectioner, shoeing marshal, (shoe-maker, harness-maker until approximately 1960) a producer of flowers, a butchery, a pork-butchery, a tobacco presses, a merchant of manure, a wine merchant, a northern service station left the village, masons, tinman, roofer, a hairdressing salon man and a living room hairstyle rams, two bars, a nurse whose son will be a large surgeon with Niort. The village had a municipal laundrette far away from the center of the village and this little attended fact.
At the cultural level there was a very active patronage until approximately 1969 in which the inhabitants of the village were very implied (plays). The elementary school counted two classes, a third (maternal) was created about 1960 in the north of the village.
About the years 1960, the rectification and the digging of the brook whose banks presented the aspect of a scrap-metal later then the regrouping, these operations were going completely to upset the aspect of the countryside.
