Brigitte Gros

Political woman and French woman of letters, Brigitte Gros (June 12th 1925 - March 11th 1985) is the girl of Emile Servan-Schreiber and the sister of Jean-Jacques Servan-Schreiber.

Youth

  • During the Second world war it engages near the army of the general De Lattre de Tassigny.

The journalist

  • It works with the '' Échos '' then in 1953, collaborates with his/her brother at the time of the foundation of the Express train , originally supplement of the Échos , a title which took the continuation of the Dispatch of the valley of the Seine in 1962 and which ceased appearing in 1980.

The political woman

  • ; Mayor of Meulan until 1985: Brigitte Gros is at the origin of the construction of the district of the Paradis and the consecutive doubling of the population of the commune. She creates, in May 1969, the Jumelage of the commune with Kilsyth (Scotland). The place of the town hall, in Meulan, was famous “Place Brigitte Gros” in her memory.
  • ; Sénatrice of the Yvelines (1973-1985): It occupied the functions of secretary of the Senate, vice-president of the commission of the cultural affairs and of secretary of the commission of the cultural affairs. It sat at the group of the Left démocratique.

    Après the censure by the constitutional council of the amendment Halimi founding a quota for the women with the elections, it decides for the behavior of a Référendum if the Municipales of 1983 would be unfavourable to the women.
