Brigade cossack Persian

The brigade cossack Persian بریگادقزاق was the guard of the royal family of Perse. Formed by Nasseredin Shah in 1882, it was ordered until in 1917 by Russian officers, of which the colonel Vladimir Liakhov. Following the Russian Revolution, its command was transferred to Iranian officers, of which most famous was the colonel Réza Khan.

Creation

The Chah of Persia Nasseredin Chah went in Russia in 1878. It cordially was accommodated and one organized in his honor a military operation which impressed it so much so that he asked for the Tsar Alexandre II of place at his disposal of the Russian officers in order to organize a similar force in Persia. Colonel A. Domontovitch and his team arrived at Teheran for this purpose in January 1879.

With the passing of years, the brigade (then later division) cossack Persian became strong of 10.000 men. She played a crucial role in the constitutional Révolution of Iran, the disorders of the First World War and the coup d'etat of 1921, which was to lead to the inversion of the dynasty Qadjar.

The brigade cossack Persian will be integrated in 1921 into the Iranian national army.

The June 9th 2000, the files of division cossack Persian coming from the ministry for the businesses foreign of the France were given to the Russian federal service of the files.
