Bridge Initiative

Bridge Initiative is a French association which contributes to the dialog between various actors with from the different points of view on related questions with universalization. Formed legally in 2003, it began like project in 2001, after the organization of a video duplex by Patrice Barrat, director of the production company Article Z, between the Worldwide social forum of Porto Alegre and the World economic forum of Davos. Following this debate, various people resulting as well from the multilateral institutions as of the civil society perceived the need for prolonging this effort of dialog. Today, Bridge Initiative acts by a single mixture of exploratory mediations and action targeted in the media, while endeavouring to put the human beings and their challenges at the center of the objective of the process of dialog. Among the public events organized by Bridge Initiative appear Open ONE, a forum allowing the civil society with the broader direction to meet and give its opinion on the needs for reforms of the United Nations.

In the field of the media, Bridge Initiative supports the Madmundo series developed by Article Z, in which journalists inquires for an ordinary citizen posing a related question with our total independence (the dismissal, the AIDS, terrorism, corruption, etc).

Bridge Initiative takes part in the international level with the reflection on the importance of the dialog in the international context, while taking part in networks like the Generative one Dialogs Project.
