Biography

Brian Wilson saw the day the 20 June 1942 with Hawthorne in California. He is the brother of Dennis Wilson and Carl Wilson, and the cousin of Mike Love. His/her father, Murry Wilson, were a rather violent head of undertaking. During all its childhood, Brian suffered because of brutality of his/her father.

The period of apogee of the creativity of Brian Wilson is in the middle of the years 1960 with songs like Good Vibrations , the album Pet Sounds (which, according to Paul McCartney itself, directly inspired the album of the Beatles Sgt. Pepper' S Lonely Hearts Club Band , same McCartney offered besides a specimen of Pet Sounds to each one of his/her children for their musical education , he regards also the song God Only Knows as the best pop song ever written) and the project published many years later (in 2004): Spalling hammer . All its life, it seeks to exceed the famous Mur of sound of the famous producer Phil Spector; at the time of Fart Sounds , it reaches that point magistralement. He was also the owner of a food store (the “Radish Radiant”) for the health, which lasted one year, after his foundation during the summer 1969.

He crosses then a long period of depression, where he does not leave almost any more a his room, does not wash themselves any more (his wife was to throw it of force under the shower) and takes much weight. This serious period of depression is due to its mental disease and its important catch of Drogue. One even tells that his friend Paul McCartney of passage to the the United States, with his wife Linda, at the time of a round of the Wings, wanted to visit him and than it was found to wait in front of the door, asking the intercom with Brian to open to him, while this last refused to open to him while sanglotant.

In 1979, it divorces his wife Marilyn (before member of a trio female surfing-music, Honeys, produced by Brian Wilson) with whom it was married since December 7th 1964. It had two girls of this first marriage: Carnie and Wendy. Besides they form later a group, Wilson Philips, while uniting with the girl of two members of the Mamas and Papas.

Partially given from this painful period, it launches out in the years 1980 in a career solo which did not accept the success deserved for an artist of its talent. Its efforts were at the same time encouraged and réfrénés by the influence of its psychiatrist, Doctor Eugene Landy. This last exerted a very great control on the life of Brian and even on its work. Brian ceased working regularly as bass player with the Beach Boys, after the exit of the album The Beach Boys , in 1985. The use by Landy of drugs on Brian and its omnipresence in its business were stopped thanks to the action of the brother of Brian Carl. Its last album with the Beach Boys was Stars and Stripes , in 1996, a collaboration with artists of country music (with the song).

Brian married in 1995 with Melinda Ledbetter, with which it adopted two girls, Daria and Delanie, and, in 2004, a son, Dylan.

After a considerable improvement of its mental health, it left its second album solo Imagination in 1998, which had a good critical success. Following that, exceeding its fear of the scene and its trac morbid, it started to give again concerts, for the first time since decades, meeting an enormous success. At the time of its concerts, he played the entirety of the album Pet Sounds , traversing America, the United Kingdom and Europe.

The 22 June 2004, it left its new album studio Getting In Over My Head , with collaboration on certain titles of Elton John, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, and its brother deceased Carl Wilson. These participations prove the influence that Brian Wilson had on the world of the music.

The 28 September 2004, the album SMiLE leaves, re-recorded. This album had become a legend well before its exit, the sessions of recording between 1966 and 1967, with Beach Boys, having been strongly pirated. The album of 2004 was recorded with its group of scene (formed in particular of 3 members of the group The Wondermints), and is regarded as a very personal album of Brian, particularly on the new version of “Good Vibrations”, written with Tony Asher, where the original words are found and not those rewritten by his/her cousin Mike Love, when the song had left like individual, in 1966.

Many homages were paid to Brian, like the Canadian rock group Barenaked Ladies with their song with success “Brian Wilson”, which refers to its mental disease and Doctor Landy. Brian Wilson took again this song for an album besides live. John Cale also returned to homage with the song “Mr. Wilson to him”, just like Roland Orzabal in “Brian Wilson Said” in the album Tears For Fears: Elemental appeared in 1993.
