Brian Leetch

Brian Leetch (born the March 3rd 1968 with Corpus Christi with the Texas) is a former player of professional Hockey which evolved/moved as a defender in the National league of hockey.

Career in club

It makes its beginnings in the national league of hockey after being chosen by the Rangers of New York during the Repêchage of entry in the LNH 1986 in first round (9th choice). He plays his last season in 2005-06 even if he announces his official retirement only in May 2007. He is the day of his retirement, 31e better frontier runner of the history of the LNH and fact part of the circle of the players having exceeded the {{formatnum: 1000}} points in its career.

On the whole, he played eighteen seasons in the LNH and only three different franknesses knew: Rangers, the Maple Leafs of Toronto and the Bruins of Boston, even if it passes by a final the majority of its time with Rangers. In 1994, it gains the Coupe Stanley. This same year, it gains the Trophée Idiot Smythe as a most useful player of the eliminatory Séries.

It twice gains the Trophée James Norris in 1992 and 1997. It also gains at the time of its first season in the LNH, the Trophée Calder rewarding best the recruit for the season.

Between 1997 and 2000, he is the captain of Rangers. It takes the C with Mark Messier and will return three years later to him.
