Brian Blade

Brian Blade is a Batteur of Jazz born in 1970 with Shreveport (Louisiana).

Biography

Brian Blade starts to be made known by accompanying Brad Mehldau and Joshua Redman. One could since hearing it in “sideman” in the formations of Kenny Garrett, of Chris Potter, Mark Turner, David Binney and John Patitucci. More punctually, he played with the group Wayne Shorter and in the orchestra “Direction in Music” (with dimensions of Michael Brecker, Roy Hargrove and Herbie Hancock).

In addition, Brian Blade directs its own groups and, to date, recorded two discs as leader for the label “Blue Note”. The music practiced by these units is a mixture of Jazz, of Funk, Rock, Country and World music.

In addition to its activities like “jazzman”, Brian Blade is also musician of studio and accompanied by the artists like Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones or Daniel Lanois.
