Brezo de Lüneburg
Yambo Ouloguem was born in 1940 with Bandiagara (country Dogon) with the French Sudan (current Mali). It makes its secondary studies in Mali before continuing in France, with the Lycée Henri-Iv, where it goes in 1960. He will be laid off thereafter of philosophy, of letters and graduate of English higher learning. He teaches during several years in a college of the Parisian suburbs, the college of Charenton.
It is in 1968 that Yambo Ouologuem writes its first book, the Duty of violence . It receives for this one the Prix Renaudot the same year, it is then the first African novelist to receive this distinction. This book treats African dynasty of Saïfs, African feudal lords. It depicts the African participation in colonialism through local leaders who sold their subjects to the Arab merchants. Its book causes many criticisms and polemics. He will be also shown of plagiarism, Ouologuem will then say to have used quotation marks. Its writings then disturb indeed the African history such as she was taught.
