History
The team began her activities under the name of Seattle Pilots in 1969, but this frankness lasted only one season. It was relocated in Milwaukee in 1970. The team was bought on April 1st 1970 by a group of business men carried out by Bud Selig. On this date, the frankness amorçait its camp of drive to Seattle. She however moved in Milwaukee, adopting the name of Brewers, in the honor of the great tradition of beer mixing of the city. The frankness was moved American League with the National league in 1998, at the time of an operation of major baseball which aimed at putting the same number of teams in the two leagues, for more equity. However, following a conflict in connection with the matches inter-league which were to take place this season, the leaders of major baseball finally chose a National league with 16 teams, and an American League with 14 teams, guaranteeing thus more interligues parts during the season.
The Selig family has the team since her creation, which makes of Brewers the team having the most stable management of all major baseball. Wendy Selig-Prieb, the girl of Bud, is now the owner and principal shareholder of the frankness. However, the January 16th 2004, Selig announced that the frankness was to be sold. In September 2004, a verbal agreement was initialed with the banker of Los Angeles Mark Attanasio. The amount of the transaction was of 180 million dollars U.S.
