History
- the city is known in particular by the name which it carried at the time Brest-Litovsk tsarist (“Brest to Lithuania”, because the Bielorussia constituted the Slavic part of the old Grand Duchy of Lithuania), because of the treated known as of Brest-Litovsk signed on March 3rd, 1918 between the Germany and the Russia Bolshevik putting an end to the war.
