Bressola

Bressola is an association of Catalan schools teaching in linguistic immersion in Catalan.

Born in 1976, it is established in the department of the the Eastern Pyrenees, old Roussillon, also called Northern Catalogne.

Providing education for in 2007 600 pupils in 8 centers, these schools are opened with all those which live in Northern Catalonia, whatever their origin, and with all the families wishing to ensure an education of their children in Catalan language, with socio-professional, philosophical distinction and especially policy.

Support for the schools in Catalan language

In March 2007 the players of foot of FC Barcelona Oleguer Pressed and Lilian Thuram took part in the reading of a proclamation of defense of the Catalan language and these schools with Perpignan.

The proclamation is also signed French selector Raymond Domenech of the singers Manu Chao, Cali, Zebda, I Muvrini, and of Francoise Xénakis.
