Brega

The brega is a Musique Brésil ienne coming from the north of the country. It today is largely adopted in the Brazilian company and extends gradually in the other areas from the country.

The brega is a music above all Romantique and for a few years has discovered a new turning with the appearance of pop-som (delivery popi-som) or more simply “tecno-brega” more appreciated Brazilian young people. Brega was a great success of the end Années 1950 until the beginning of the Années 1960 in a more romantic context with for principal celebrity Waldick Soriano, Anísio Silva, Nelson Ned, Agnaldo Timóteo etc

The pop one of Belem and the surroundings represents an alternative of the traditional Rock, one can be lifting and sporting. The abundant production is often of poor quality, very often taken again by many group and DJ, but often listened at the time of the festivals or Sundays afternoon with the beach where bregueiros and other DJ' S install an impressive personal sound system generally fed by a generator or simply by means more banals as the cars which are generally over-equipped at the acoustic level.

The brega has also a strong success with a richer music and increasingly more romantic with the appearance of the style " Calypso" , who Na however nothing to see with Calypso caribéen, one can quote international celebrities like " Calypso" bandaged; originating in Belem of the state of the Para, who makes the work of an incredible success to the United States of America but we can also speak about other groups like " Companhia C Calypso" who has a very close repertory, however; a little carnavalesque, Or " Da Loirinha" bandaged; , Literarily “the band of the blondinette” which represents a footbridge between the " brega" and the " forro" (which represents a similar style of music and of the same origin than that of the " brega")

Caution: the adjective " brega" has as a translation “old-fashioned”, particularly in the South where this term shows the vieillotte variety, old-fashioned.
