Brebotte
Brebotte is a commune of the Territoire of Belfort belonging to the canton of Grandvillars. The village, which gathered 264 inhabitants in 1999, is located near Muddy the , and of the channel of the the Rhone in the Rhine .
History
The name of the village appears for the first time in 1105 in the charter of foundation of the priory of Froidefontaine by Ermentrude, widow of Thierry Ier, count of Montbeliard. Towards 1441 Brebotte (in German Bruderbach or Bruderbuch ), which had already a vault subsidiary of Montreux-Young person, formed with Brittany (Territory of Belfort) an autonomous parish. The Saint-Etienne church, which had already been restored towards 1660 was rebuilt in the middle of the 18th century.
