Brass band for the Comic MUSE
Fanfare for the Comic MUSE is the first album of The Divine Comedy, left in 1990. More confidential than the remainder of the discography, and almost untraceable in the trade, it is the only test (except Regeneration ) of this formation as a true group, and not entirely centered on Neil Hannon. The songs are clearly inspired there by the pop-rock'n'roll alternative of the Eighties, with a real presence of the electric guitar, the low one and battery.
When Neil Hannon decides to start a new career, based on a music minus rock'n'roll, a caesura is carried out with its old compositions. This is why Liberation is often regarded as the first " véritable" album of The Divine Comedy.
The album was republished in 1998, but it especially remakes to speak about him in 2006, the album Victory for the Comic MUSE referring by its title clearly there. The piece " Garden" secrecy; is even played at the time of the round accompanying this new exit.
