Brandebourg

The Brandebourg (German: Brandenburg , sorabe Braniborska ) is one of the federate States composing the Germany. It entirely surrounds the city-State of Berlin. It is located at the center of old the German Democratic republic.

During Years 1990, a project of unification of Länder of Berlin and Brandebourg was formed to improve the economic attraction and the fame of the second and to give a back-country related to the first. The project subjected to a referendum was accepted by the Berliners but was refused by the Brandenburgers.

This Land tests since 2002 the " large coalition" , namely a government of the two principal parties, the SPD and CDU, such as there exists at the federal level since November 22nd, 2005. The minister-president of Brandebourg is since 2002, Matthias Platzeck, which were also president (equivalent of the first secretary) of the SPD, social democrat party of November 2005 in April 2006.

History

The Land of Brandebourg was formed starting from the Prussian province of Brandebourg, which corresponded to the Margraviat de Brandebourg less the Old woman-Walk which formed part of the Prussian Saxony.
