Bramois

Bramois is a village of approximately: 2800 inhabitants located in the Canton of the Were worth with 2 km in the south-east of the downtown area of Sion.

Above the village, hung in the cliffs which overhang the wild throats of the Borgne, is the hermitage of Longeborgne. Before becoming a place of retreat and pilgrimage, caves of Longeborgne - " baumes" - had a defensive use: the inhabitants of Barmois could put at it in safety their most invaluable goods during the periods of danger.
