Brain Ramming (rock group)

Brain Damage is a group Rock French founded in 1977 by Haylock M.S. Ellis (Guitare) and Philippe Poiret (guitar, keyboards, Chant). At the conclusion of various changes of personnel having brought Didier Borgatta to low and Polished Eric (ex-P38) with the battery, they are joined in 1983 by Roland C. Wagner with the song. They then play a mixture of punk, new wave and garage rock'n'roll. After a score in concerts, the group separates two years later without leaving of trace discographic - at least at the time, because 1984 (Live in Cithéa) (Shayol 3) presents the last concert of this formation, on September 15th, 1984.

Brain Damage is reformed in 1988 with a new rhythm section: Norbert Endevell with the battery and, with low, Hubert Evrard (ex-Stunners, Black ex-Darling). This time, the musical orientation is clearly garage psychedelic - they even were called a time the “Fuzztones French”. In first half of the Years 1990, after one period of undulation due at the beginning of P. Poiret, the group gives some concerts with Valéry Guillaume (ex-NOMAD, ex-X-Men) to low and Richard Devesa (ex-NOMAD, ex-X-Men, future RTZ) with the rhythmic guitar (fuzz) before giving up the scene.

Brain Ramming, tiny room to H.M.S. Elect and R.C. Wagner, is devoted from now on to the recording, with the specific assistance of V. Guillaume and a serious knack with the battery of Mister Shoes (ex-Assez, ex-X-Men, ex-SF, ex-Elephant System, current beater of Indo-China) which plays on the principal recent titles. One finds this formation on CD without title left in 1999 on Shayol Records (Shayol CD1). As for the 45 turns (Shayol 101) appeared in 1996, it presents earlier “Brain Damage”, recorded six years - while the face B is occupied by “Shiva' S Meltdown” of X-Men, another musical project of H.M.S. Ellis. Maximum 25 cm has been announced for several years, but it would seem that he still was not born.

Several tens of pieces are nevertheless available in line, among which “Clicks on the mulot”, sarcastic anthem with the free music and circulation without obstacle of the culture.

In September 2006, Brain Damage publishes its second album, Visages on the screen (Shayol 2), in an only virtual form and license Creative Commons. Composed of ten pieces recorded between 1989 and 2006, it is available in free downloading on Jamendo. The orientation of the texts like always is very centered on the science fiction, with titles as “When the landscape tears (Philip K. Dick)”, “a summer of greenhouse” (dedicated to Norman Spinrad), “Faces on the screen” or “Is wary of the insane scientist! ”.
