Brahmo Samaj
Brahmo Samaj is a religious movement theist founded in the years 1830 in India by Râm Mohan Roy. Taking as a starting point elements of the Hindouisme, the Islam and the Christianity, the doctrines of this religious current reject the worship of the images and the idolatry. Brahmo Samaj preaches the meditation like the gasoline of the spiritual life.
This movement grants a great place to social concerns such as the philanthropic action, the abolition of the system of castes or the emancipation of the woman.
