Brace ibn Ezra

The Rabbin Moïse ibn Ezra (born with Grenade in Spain towards 1055 - 1060 and died after 1138) was a Jewish Philosophe Spanish, Poète, linguist and critical of Poésie. It is also called ha-Salah (" author of prayers of pénitence" or Seli' hot, forgiveness ), in Hebrew משהבןיעקבהסלחאבןעזרא, Arab أبوهارونموسىبنيعقوبابنعزرا.

The rabbi and philosopher Abraham ibn Ezra (approximately 1090 - 1165) were related for him. Brace ibn Ezra was a pupil of Isaac ibn Ghiyyat.

The poetry of Brace ibn Ezra swarmed with references to Solomon ibn Gabirol and the ancient Greek philosophers (but it often made errors in its references) like Pythagore, Empédocle, Socrate and Aristote.

Its theses were impressed of Néoplatonisme:

  • the man is a microcosm, reflection of the macrocosm
  • God is One beyond all the units and Inconnaissable in itself
  • the self-knowledge leads to the knowledge of the Creator.
