Braassemermeer

The Braassemermeer is a Lac Dutch in the north of the province of the Holland-Southerner. It has a surface of 425 ha. The lake was born after the extraction from the Tourbe in old the Marais.

Braassemermeer is located in the communes of Alkemade and Jacobswoude. Roelofarendsveen and located on its Western bank, and Rijnsaterwoude opposite, on Eastern bank. The lake is connected to the Wijde Aa via the Paddegat.

The southernmost part of the lake is small a Natural reserve ( De Hemmen ). The lake has a primarily tourist destination, and developed a strong activity of water sports.
