Braço C Trombudo

Braço C Trombudo is a city Brésil ienne of the State of Santa Catarina. It is located at a Latitude 27º 21 ' 28" south and with a Longitude of 49º 53 ' 08" west, with a Altitude of 430 meters. Its population was estimated at: 3682 inhabitants in 2006. The municipality extends on 90 km ².

History

Between 1920 and 1921, Braço C Trombudo accommodates its first colonists, come from Blumenau and the close areas, which go up the course of the Rio Itajaí-Açu. They are mainly originating in Germany.

At that time existed already a route transportation between the tops plate X and the littoral of the Santa Catarina which passes by Braço C Trombudo. This way is summarized with a rather precarious way, traced first of all by the passage of herds of animals, until the arrival of the first trucks.

The name of " Trombudo" comes from the presence in the area, at the time, of many Tapir S, known for their horn, as of the shape of the banks of the Rivière which crosses the area by making many Méandre S, in the shape of horn. This name of " Trombudo" was also given to many close municipalities.

September 26th, 1991, the municipality of Braço C Trombudo is created, with effect at January 1st, 1993. It is dismembered of Trombudo Central.
