Bréguet - Sabin (subway of Paris)
Bréguet - Sabin is a station of the Métro of Paris on the line 5, in the 11 {{E}} district of Paris.
The station
The station is open in 1906.
It pays homage to the Breguet family (or Bréguet), of which the Swiss clock and watch maker of origin Abraham Louis Breguet (1747-1823), which was the inventor of stem-winding watches automatic for astronomy. Its grandson Louis (1804 -1883) invented electricals appliance and radiotelegraphic and collaborated with Chappe. Later, its great-grandson Antoine (1851-1882) developed an electric anemometer. The son of this last was celebrates it pioneer of the aviation Louis Charles Breguet (1880-1955) whose plane manually-controlled by Costes and Bellonte crossed the Atlantic of is in west in 1930. The name of the station is also a homage to Angelesme de Saint-Sabin which was alderman of Paris in 1777.
The station Breguet Sabin was in work from March 5th to May 15th, 2007.
