A boyer was the name of small a Navire Dutch, equipped with two side drifts for better going back to the wind and with a flat bottom to go up the channels and rivers. It was gréé in Sloop and often equipped with the back with small a Mât wearing a veil with the third.

The boyers were numerous at the 17th century.
