Bourlamaque

Bourlamaque named according to François Charles de Bourlamaque is a sector of the town of Valley-in Or with the Quebec, in the regional Municipalité of county of Valley-with-the Gold of the administrative area of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue.

Bourlamaque is founded on April 20th, 1934 on the initiative of the Lamaque Gold Mines Limited, which will ensure planning and the realization of it, with the intention to place its employees of the Lamaque mine there. The municipalities of Valley-in Or, Bourlamaque and Lake-Lemoine amalgamate in 1968.

In 1979, the ministry for the cultural Affairs of Quebec allots to the Coron of Bourlamaque the statute of Historic site classified, under the name of mining Village of Bourlamaque.
