Bourbonne

The Bourbonne , river of Saône-et-Loire, is a Affluent of the the Saone.

Taking its source with Lugny with the foot of the mountain of the Castle, this river which runs of west in is cross-piece successively the territory of the communes of Lugny and of Montbellet then throws itself in the the Saone close to the hamlet of Saint-Oyen after having received in the crossing of the commune of Lugny water of the brook of Bissy (taking its source on the territory of the commune of Bissy-la-Mâconnaise), of Garlic (taking its source on the territory of the commune of Cruzille), of the brook of Fissy and the brook of Burgy.

The water of Bourbonne formerly actuated the wheel of very many mills: the Burdeau mill, the Vallerot mill, the mill Knight (old Guillet mill), the mill of Essarts, the Jouvent mill, the mill Bourbon…

The source of this river - said “source of blue Water” - formerly fed out of water the ditches of the castle of Lugny.
