Bourbince
The Bourbince is a river of the Département of Saône-et-Loire in France. It is an affluent of the Arroux out of left bank and thus a tributary of a tributary of the Loire.
Cours de la Bourbince
It takes its source in the outfall of the Pond of Torcy (according to the IGN) which is him even supplied with various brooks downward of Montcenis.
To Digoin, it is thrown in the Arroux (which joined the the Loire shortly after).
On most of its way, the valley of Bourbince lodges the slope ligérien Canal of the Center.
Hydrology
The flow of Bourbince was observed over one 50 years period (1958-2007), with Vitry-in-Charollais, locality of the Département of Saône-et-Loire, located at the place of its confluence with the Arroux, downstream from the town of Paray-le-Monial. At this place the catchment area of the river is of 819 km ² (on 845 for the entirety of the basin).
The interannual medium flow or module of the river with Vitry-in-Charollais is of 7,89 m ³ a second, and thus enlarges Arroux of its water right before its confluence with the Loire.
Bourbince presents the rather important and typical seasonal fluctuations of flow of the rivers of the east of France, resulting from the Massif Central, with risings of winter carrying the average monthly flow between 11 and 17 m ³ a second, from December to March included (maximum in February), and of low waters of summer from July to September, with a fall of the monthly medium flow up to the level of 2,1 m ³ in August, level which remains rather comfortable.
The VCN3 can however fall until 0,6 m ³, in the event of dry period quinquennial what is extremely low.
In addition the risings are often relatively important and contribute to block the Arroux. The recorded maximum instantaneous flow was of 135 m ³ a second on December 3rd, 2003, while the value maximum day laborer was of 119 m ³ a second the same day. The QIX 2 and QIX 5 are worth respectively 67 and 84 m ³ a second. The QIX 10 or calculated flow of decennial rising is of 96 m ³ a second, and the QIX 20 is assembled to 110 m ³. As for the QIX 50 , it is of 120 m ³. These values are high enough for a basin of 820 km ².
The Lame of water past in the basin of Bourbince is of 305 millimetres annually, which is more or less equivalent to the overall average of France, but higher than that of the whole of the catchment area of the Loire (more or less 250 millimetres with Nantes). The specific Débit (or Qsp) is assembled at 9,6 liters a second and per square kilometer of basin.
