Boulevard Gouvion-Saint-Cyr
The boulevard Gouvion-Saint-Cyr is a boulevard of the 17 {{E}} district of Paris. It is part of the Boulevards of the Marshals”.
The boulevard leaves the Avenue of Villiers and arrives at the Porte Shirt, where it leaves the place to the Boulevard of the Admiral-Bruix. It has a 1050 meters length for a width from 30 to 36 meters.
History
The boulevard belonged to the Military Rue, until its handing-over at the Town of Paris on July 28th, 1859in the past, left the secondary road n° 11, said Revolt, between the avenue of Villiers and bastion 50. The street Militaire was given conditionally to the Town of Paris by military engineering pursuant to a ministerial decision of July 28th, 1859. The road of the Revolt was created about 1750 on the site of an old way leading to Saint-Denis.
It received its name of the marquis Laurent de Gouvion-Saint-Cyr (1764 - 1830), Marshal of France.
