Boujdour
Boujdour (rear RTL Arabic بوجدور, in the past Cabo Bojador in Portuguese) is a city of the the Western Sahara, managed by the Morocco, near the course Boujdour. In 2004, the city comprised 36 843 inhabitants. Coordinates:
Boujdour was in the beginning a Village fishermen established around the Phare of the course Boujdour. Since 1976, this Cité started to affirm an urban character, pressed on a population growth and its new port. Emerged from the desert, Boujdour became the chief town of the province. This one profited from program “Al Aouda” and “Al Wahda”. The effort of the State in favor of this Province is also directed towards the realization of the villages of fishermen. In addition, as of 1976, a unit of desalination of sea water was installed there and of research led to discovered subterranean water in the surroundings of the city. This city has an asset: the cornice. This one is located within the city and skirts the coast. It constitutes one of the most beautiful sites of the area Laâyoune - Boujdour.
