Bougon

Bougon is a common French, located in the department of the Two-Sevres and the area Poitou-Charentes.

Geography

History

The area of Bougon was inhabited for a very long time as many and very important testify some monuments megalithic which are there. The commune of Bougon is a high place of the Préhistoire and in particular of the Neolithic : the Dolmen of Pierre Raised, on the road of Exoudun, and the Tumulus located road of Pamproux, of it are the evidence. The necropolis of Bougon is gone back to 4700 years before J. - C., which in fact is oldest of Europe.

A museum of prehistory was built near the tumulus by the General advice of the Two-Sevres.
