Botrytis cinerea

Botrytis cinerea is a Champignon phytopathogene responsible for the gray Pourriture of the plants, a cryptogamic Maladie which attacks the Vigne S and produces each year of the major damage. The disease is not limited only to the Raisin: others Fruit S, the Fleur S and the Légume S can also be reached.

In the Vineyard S, this type of Pourriture can be desired, according to the climate, to obtain wines more Liquoreux (sauternes, slope-of-tailboard, monbazillac, Trockenbeerenauslese, Beerenauslese), one then speaks about noble Pourriture. The botrytis returns the more complicated Fermentation of the Vin because it produces a Antifongique which kills the Levure S and stops the process before the degree of alcohol is sufficient.

The gray rot appears under conditions of moisture raised for one long period. The Spore S germinent starting from 18 °C and if they are in contact with water.

The means of fight against the botrytis are those of the fight against the Insecte S whose attacks support the development of mushroom and the elimination of the attacked bodies. Fungicides commercial are ineffective.

The name Botrytis cinerea indicates the asexual shape (Deutéromycète) of mushroom. The sexuée form (Ascomycète) can be obtained in conditions controlled in laboratory but only was very seldom observed in nature: Botryotinia fuckeliana .
