Botrychium
The kind Botrychium gathers several species S of Fougère S.
One more generally speaks about Botryche S to indicate the plants of this group.
Etymology
The word Botrychium comes from the Greek botrus who refers to the form of fructification.
General description
They are plants with short Rhizome, drawn up, carrying the bud of the following year and from one to three sling S. Those have a Pétiole partially or completely underground, made of a vegetative part and a fruit-bearing part (Sporange S) which carries free bags between them, on two rows.
Characteristics of the group
The Botryches are remarkable plants by their scarcity, the small number of the individuals, their longevity, and their great variability. This variability holds so that each individual produces each year more developed and more divided sling. These ferns, which renew their air part annually, live very a long time, and the presence of adult individuals in a meadow indicates that this habitat was not touched by the plow since a great number of years.
